The Critérium de la Première neige

 

 On 10th-11st December, Altigliss association went to Val d’Isère to participate at the Critérium de la première neige.

 

Presentation

The Critérium de la première neige has been held every year in Val d’Isère since 1955. This event, organized by le Club des Sports de Val d’Isère, takes place during two weekends: one is dedicated to the men, the other for the ladies. This is one of the stages of the ski world cup.

 

Results

On the 10th-11st December, it took place the man competition on the mythical slope “Face de Bellevarde”.
On Satuday 10th, seven Frenchmen launched on the giant’s track. In the first round, the Frenchman Alexis Pinturault ranked at the top of the scores. Thanks to a perfect second round he deprived Marcel Hirscher (AUT), his main opponent, from climbing on the first step of the podium. Alexis Pinturault won for the first time in his career the giant.

3rd: Henrik Kristoffersen (NOR)

On Sunday 11th, eight Frenchmen participated in the slalom downhill. After the fastest time in the first round, Alexis Pinturault (FRA) made a mistake on his second run. This error allowed the Norwegian Henrik Kristoffersen to win the slalom for the second consecutive year at the Criterium. Because of the abandonment of Alexis Pinturault, Jean-Baptiste Grange was the first French, he ranked at the 15th place.

On the December 17th-18th, the lady competition of the Critérium de la première neige took place at La Daille.

On Saturday 17th, six French women raced downhill but unfortunately none of them managed to reach the top 20 of the race. It was the Slovenian Ilka Stuhec who won the competition, signing her fourth victory since the start of the season.

On Sunday 18th December, six French women took part in the super-G but only Tessa Worley (FRA), which is a great geantist, ranked at the 5th place. It was finally Laura Gut (SUI) who won the event. Her victory allowed her to take her revenge after missing a door at the previous day’s competition.
